Shell-like

Like my aging hairline, springs ice slowly recedes. Unlike my hairline, the receding ice reveals treasures hidden for many months.

I see things laying about and wonder how they came to be there. The shell is very tiny and may have been on a child's bracelet or necklace.

Was it a sad day when the shell was missed?

I hope not. I hope that the child thought it was time for the shell to move on to someone else.

Lynne's Somewhat Invented Life said...

Hum, makes me remember the time my mother put her rings on the Thanksgiving table and then later bundled the tablecloth up and shook the crumbs--and rings--out back. She had to wait for the spring thaw to find the rings but they showed up. I should put this story on my blog someday.
