Looking at the Mountains

Did I mention that lilacs are one of my worst nightmares when it comes to allergies? Caught between a rock and a sneezy place.

The Morning After

"So, Jack, what should we do after breakfast?
"Well, Martha, I have been thinking on that and I believe we should finish sweeping up the mess left by the barn dance."
"That's a mighty fine idea, Jack. I never knew dancing cows could make such a mess."
"Ain't that the truth, Martha. Ain't that the truth."

Wells General Store & Market

Do you ever stare at something thinking "There is something interesting about that but I just can't figure it out."?

I do. Then I photographed it and weeks later, I still can't figure it out.

Is This a Flower?

I saw this fellow and it made me wonder. How many bits can you lose before you are not a person?

There must be a point between being an entire being with all your fingers and toes and a being with a single cell left when humanity ceases. Or is every cell endowed with inherent humanity?

If you remove a toe, are you still human or is the toe still human. Both cannot be. Or maybe neither is.

So, is this a flower?

Layered

I love the fact that the world is layered. The deeper you dig, the closer you come to the beginning of time.

International Relations

Colette Amelia stood in B.C. being a Canadian and I stood in Alaska pretending to be a USAnian. This time it was just a kiss whereas the US usually screws Canada.

Oops, did I really type that?

Struggling to Live

This is a tiny part of the Lava Beds at Anhluut'ukwsim Laxmihl Angwinga'asanskwhl Nisga'a Provincial Park in northwestern British Columbia. These lava beds, which extend for many miles, were formed when a volcano erupted about 250 years ago.

She slipped out of the ball. . .

Little Rag Girl left the church before anyone else; she changed her clothes in time to appear before her stepmother in rags. On the way home, as she was leaping over a stream, in her haste she let her slipper fall in.

A Mother's Sweet Love

A mother's sweet love can kill you when the mother is the size of this one and she has hooves that can kill with one blow.

Cow moose are very protective of their calves. If you get between them, there is a good chance that you will be . . . .

Judge Not

I was in the gold mining town of Barkerville and wandered into the church to snap some photos. There was a bible lying open.

I think if I was a christian, this would be an important bit of doctrine. In fact, everybody could use it as a guiding principle life.

Reformed

I don't know if they are reformed christians. Or if the building is reformed.

The prevalent meaning of reformed is to induce or cause to abandon evil ways. Were they evil christians who suddenly became good? Was the building haunted by evil spirits and an exorcism was performed?

I just don't know.
