First of all, I guess I need to say where this photo was shot before it all makes sense. It was shot about 75 metres from a Tattoo Parlour.
Now . . .
my question is - did the tree go to the Tattoo Parlour or did the artist come to the tree? My guess is that the artist came to the tree.
Next . . .
there are several trees at this location with tattoos. Did they get a discount?
And . . .
are these trees part of a gang? I saw some brutal violence in downtown Prince George today. Do I have to start worrying about marauding arborescent life forms?

I am on vacation. It is only a week but a week is better than nothing. Not enough time to make a significant get-away, perhaps, but it is time to make a get-away in my mind with a minor physical journey.
But what destination?
Or maybe time for two journeys as I have to be home Monday. An overnight at some close spot then a few days farther afield.
Yes, that is an option.

Think about perceptions. How do we perceive other people? How do we percieve ourselves?
When you see two old ladies waiting for their taxi, do you see them simply as two tired, sad old ladies waiting to get home for a cup of tea or do you see two excited friends who want to rip open their Birks bag and gaze upon some new treasure? What is in the other bag? Empty pop tins to help eke out a meager existence or is it a bottle of wine? Part of a romantic dinner for two? Are they sisters? Friends? Lovers?

Sometimes I think I need a really good psychic reading. You know, someone to tell me what is really going on inside my little brain. I can't seem to figure it out for myself so why not let someone else take on the job. Why be responsible for getting a grip on my own little problems when I can outsource the job.
That's it. Contract out responsibility for my inner workings.

Sometime you just have to wonder what we humans as self-appointed landlord of the earth are thinking. We crap where we drink. We urinate into the very place where we get fish.
It is not unnatural do do so, after all that is what all animals do, but there are just so damned many of us that we overrun the world with refuse and excretion. To top things off, as if our bodies cannot produce enough, we manufacture more crap.
I realize that I am as evil as the rest of the world. I just don't know what to do about it.

Think about it: a candle can be a more startling source of light than the sun. More warmth. More beauty. More inviting.
Actually, the form in the background is a very out of focus guitar player with strangely coloured incandescent light shining on him.
Still, that does not diminish the candle.

It is too bad that good old Tim Horton, an icon of 1960's strength has become a 2000's symbol of corporate urban squalor.
It is not even very good coffee. And their flagship doughnuts (not donuts) are just little packages of poison infiltrating the bodies of our youth.
Oh, well. At least they aren't MacDonald's.

Have you ever had one of those days when you just can't seem to get yourself together? I have. In fact I have had too many of those days in sequence to count.
I need to go for a long walk or maybe I just need to bake some cookies.

Somwetimes it seems as though I a trapped inside a surrealist painting. Immobile and unable to escape.
The problem is that my mind seems to have stagnated from an artistic point of view. If I can be so bold as to use the word "artistic."
I seem to have stopped viewing the world from my personal point of view and see it as I think other people expect me to see it. Does that makle sense?
I am fighting to find my own vision. To reclaim it. I have 303 days 5 hours and 34 minutes to do so.

- I got my first camera, a Canon Ft QL, in 1974. It was supplemented by a Canon F1 in 1976 so that I could have a camera for black and white and one for colour. I still have those beauties but now they have eased into retirement. They relax on my shelf beside many other old beauties. Now I use a Canon 5D MK II. How convenient to use one camera for both colour and black and white.
