I Couldn't Always Walk On Water
There was a time long ago when the ponds were not hard on top. Ducks and geese could land safely without fear of brain injury. The pond surface rippled when the wind blew.
Try to tell kids that, they won't believe you.

Spectating
Looking at the ice jam, these people stood and stared for quite a while. I admit to doing the same thing but not as long. I mean, how long can you look at ice on a river that is not moving?

Day Lights
Those patio lanterns
They were the stars in the sky
Those patio lanterns
Lighting up our lives

What the World Needs
I have a plan to save the world from opinionated self-serving whackos who think they have all the answers and we need to fall in line with their beliefs and live as they live and believe what they believe and worship as they worship.
We all should wear goofy hats. Who can criticise others when they are dress to kill with laughter? I insist everyone do as I say and get a goofy hat. You can even pray to it in private.
Oops. I think I just slipped into whackoness.

Unchanged
Except for the signs, the electricity lines, the barricade, and the black-top this piece of road is unchanged since the 19th century.
I kind of like that.

Snowy Sanctuary
It is Saturday so I guess the steps don't need to be cleared of snow. I don't see the sanctuary knocker so they don't have to worry about some wayward soul seeking refuge.
I remember seeing the wonderful knocker at Durham Cathedral. You just had to touch the knocker to get sanctuary.

Get Your BA
I have been thinking about getting my B.A.. Or M.A.. It sounds so easy. I have been receiving emails offering them. No work. Just pay the bucks.
I think there are even people working in the US government who got their jobs based on them.

I Hate Musical Plays
The sun'll come out

So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya

The Old Days
It used to be that a farmer needed a good strong woman and good strong horse. Not necessarily in that order.
Now I am going to be in trouble.

Dance Like No One Is Watching
This shot is at a music festival. The story starts the year before. This girl got on the stage and started dancing. Security removed her (there were a few tears).
The next year, the same band (The Paperboys) had her come on stage and dance during one of their numbers. They had remembered her a year later.

Sleeping Beauty
Have you ever done something that is totally outside of your realm of experience?
Maybe that should be an annual event. Pick a day, maybe your birthday, and do something absolutely uncharacteristic.

British Columbia Legislative Assembly
Okay, it is just a room in Victoria but look at all that red.
When I was growing up, red and black were my favourites.

Photographs are so cool . . .
I did not intend to post this. I was looking for a nice summery shot.
Then I saw this. Photographs are incredible. They are little boosts to our aging memories. What would the world be like without them?

Winter Buds
There is no way to tell how long they have been stuck in this tree but they are a splash of colour in our grey winter.

Young Love
A couple of young lovers out for a jog.
They looked to be in their late fifties. Does that still count as young love?

Forward into a warmer future.
Just playing around with a zoom while the shutter open. To read about the wasteful place and event where this shot was made go to Colette Amelia's Blog.

Just Because She Is Cute
I don't mean to say that I wouldn't post her portrait if she wasn't cute but she is. Can't hold that against her.
