Sad Eyes

This is not a judgement. I am not saying that she is sad. She is probably very happy. Overjoyed with life.

What I am saying is that, in that photographic instant, her eyes have what I think of as a sad look.

Okay?

A photo is a recorded moment in time. It is not an emotion, a person, or a soul (sadly). I have a lovely fantasy of running around capturing souls with a nice lens. Then I'd be too much like Dorian Grey... but I've digressed... That being said, the photograph of the person you recorded at that instant presented a fascinating portrait; perhaps even a glimpse of her soul.

For me, the interesting part of viewing a photograph is the speculation that comes after the image is captured and processed.

She doesn't look sad. I see concern in her eyes.
