What is the point of having Christmas without at least one child around? I mean it is nice to share it with someone you love (even if it is in a non-romantic way) but with a child around the entire celebration gains some sort of meaning.
No kid? Just another day.

True, but isn't Christmas also a bit about diception? Sure Santa is fun and all, but why? wouldn't you rather have the kid say, 'thanks mom, thanks dad.' than thank some stranger they've never met, and isn't even real? Why can't it just be?
Yes, but I said nothing about Santa. I just meant that it is a celebration of sharing. Not even sharing gifts but rather sharing conversation, food, and mere companionship. Up here in the frozen north, it is nice to have a celebration of sharing to get you out with other people.
