Earth Day

It is Earth Day.

I wondered what shot I would use to celebrate our planet.

This is the Earth working to reclaim a piece of its body. It is a car tire that has lain on the ground for some time. The grass grew around it then the snow flattened the snow. The receding snow reveals the covered tire.

The Earth might be successful in its attempt to reclaim it. Or maybe the Earth will fail. Let's check back in a million years.

To tell the truth, I would not have known it was a car tire underneath all that if you had not said, sad state of the earth, hope it's still around for a million more years

You have a fantastic sense of photography and an eye which shows your fine feelings. Keep doing good job in your giant studio which happens to be my studio as well :)

Peculiar metaphor. We will have to hope million years to verify the result. ! Bravo!

This is such an excellent image and narrative for Earth Day. I love the form that this has taken on after being swallowed back by the earth. Really nice capture.
