Vanna White
One more shot from the CN derailment debacle in early August. The reason is I was reading Colette Amelia's post for today and was reminded what a good employee Kelli (yes, Kelli with an 'i' and possibly with a little heart of it) Svendsen is; she should be made Employee of the Month. Or maybe share it with good old Jamie Boychuk. Jamie for pushing the bounds of safety just to see how far trainmen should go and Kelli for being the lovely CN Spokemodel.
Kelli makes Vanna White (Wheel of Fortune) pale in comparison. Vanna would at least give us a letter of the alphabet (if she was told precisely what letter we wanted) whereas good old Kelli says nothing.
Kelli is the mute spokesperson.
Read Colette Amelia's post for August 27th for the more indepth information.

Just Another Thong
We walked for 30 minutes through a rain forest up hill with slippery slimy mud and big stones and logs so slippery that if you step on them your feet shoot out. Rain pelts down because it is a rain forest.
I was thinking "How stupid to wear running shoes instead of hiking boots."
We arrive at a little waterfall and the entire trek pales when this woman arrives wearing her thongs.

Proof that there is Life on Earth
Shot from space, ther is what appears to be a face on the surface of the Earth.
Actually, it is another bit of sand graffiti at the Pinnacles Park.

A Moment with an Old Girlfriend.
Took some shots with my old Canon Ft QL. It was an odd feeling after doing so much digital shooting. Kind of like going out with an old love. It felt so weird. The Canon 5D has a great sound with the shutter trips but it doesn't come close to the loud solid sound of the Ft.
Incidentally, the shot is of a new sub-division. A city that has had a shrinking population somehow finds room to build new houses.

Dunn
Dunn!! Where are you?
At Pinnacles Provincial Park, people carve initials and messages of love into the cliffs sandy walls.
The sand could crumble at any time.

Along the walls of Pinnacles Provincial Park, people have carved initials, messages, and even little pictures.

At the Top of the World
Went for a drive with Colette Amelia to Pinnacles Provincial Park. The sky is kind of blown out but, who cares, right? It was an adventure.

Raspberry Fields Forever
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Raspberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Raspberryberry Fields forever.

Newsflash
I was in a parking lot about to shoot a photograph when a woman parked her big van in the way. When she saw that I had a camera, she graciously moved to another slot. I thanked her profusely and shot away. Six shots
They were all crap so this fills the space.

Missing
I don't know who he is. I know nothing about him other than he is another in the long long list of missing people in this city.

Jamie Boychuk, CN Superintendent
Hey, it is not much of a photograph but then all the real excitement is over. The fire is out. The river is no longer burning. No threat of exploding tankcars.
And . . . the ass-covering has begun.
I heard an interview with a CN Spokesperson and she, well, she did not speak. She was the spokesperson but was speechless.
I cannot comment on the cause of the accident other than to say it was employee error. I can't comment on a Transportation Safety Board investigation. I can't comment on employee morale. Stuff like that.
It was employee error. The employee was a Manager. No one will say who it was. That is all. She wouldn't say what the error was. Just an accicdent. These things happen.
No-one has heard from CN Superintendent Jamie Boychuk (who happens to be a Manager). No one will say whether the Manager was given a drug test as any other employee would receive. (The rumour is that the Manager did fail a piss test but that is just a rumour. Maybe he just pissed himself during the excitement.)
Another rumour is that Jamie Boychuk, a Manager, is being reassigned to a new territory down in the United States.

Bijou Transposition
I put a shot of Bijou Falls on my Aminus Blog and thought "Hey, why not not one here?" You see, I am feeling kind of lazy today.
I know, I know, it is a cliché shot but what the hell. I said I am lazy.

Blazing Sun
This was taken between Gordondale and Baytree.
Now I am not the brightest bulb in the pack and so as I had been shooting other stuff at 1600 ISO I neglected to switch it. Therefore the quality lacks.
One second exposure at f4. in darkness with a gas well flame for a sun.

Watched
Have you ever felt like you are being watched?
Downtown Dawson Creek. I am using new software since I am not home and am having a little trouble getting used to it. Excuse the look of the shot.

Road Trip
Heading to the wild north tomorrow. I will have to find a place to stay. Not, I hope, in a motel where the refridgerators are lined up like old soldiers waiting to fade away.
The green one on the left seems to be reviewing the troops followed by his aide-de-camp.
