A pinhole camera shot for International Pinhole Day. It is of the Telus building. But I should have prepared for the day. Should have made sure the apeture (AKA: hole) was the right size. And I think I should develop a telescoping pinhole. Attach a sliding tube with a pinhole on the end.
Just a thought.
Anyway, to shorten the story, I am not happy with any shots.
You know, sometimes a guys just needs a little exotic entertainment with his dinner. Maybe a special drink to go with it but definitely Exotic Entertainment.
Perhaps I should get some new music in to accompany the entertainment. Hmmm, good idea.
Have you ever thought of yourself as a bargain bundle? Would you want to be someone's Bargain Bundle. Or would you rather be an exclusively produced one of a kind bundle. A bundle that never goes on sale. Maybe someday to become a prized antique bundle.
Sometimes a guy just needs a nice hat to feel good about himself. And a fine summery hat just does so much more. The surrounding world just feels better.
Not really much to say about this so I will talk about the weather. It rained today. Chilly. After yesterday's hot weather it seemed even more unpleasant than usual.
Now isn't that an interesting Blog entry?
Driving in a white-out blizzard at the end of April is a very frustrating occupation. The most frustrating part is knowing that you should be driving through green pastures and budding trees.
Hey, it is Shakepeare's Birthday. Or rather his deathday. He died on April 23, 1616. As he was Christened on the 26th of April, 1564 and Christenings were generally 3 days after the birth it is accepted that the birthdate is the 23rd. It provides a nice symmetry to his life.
Birthdates were not recorded.
A life of hosting many many posters and handbills has left this plywood pockmarked and prickly with staples.
A leaf. A shadow. A feeling.
A feeling of loneliness. A lonely leaf. Lonely photographer.
Have you ever seen something that just draws your eye and you cannot figure out why? That happened to me when I saw this simple sign on a brick wall in Victoria. I just liked it. I liked the colour. The textures.
I find it interesting that this would be cast with the words O Ring. Why would it be done? The person working on it probably knows that an O Ring is present.
Life is full of If Onlys. If only I had done this. If only I had done that. If only I had said what I wanted to say. If only I had gone to sleep instead of reading all night. If only I had said "I love you" instead of "That's a nice haircut."
Sometimes you think it going to be too easy to get to first base. After all it seems so close but you are heading there and suddenly you get distracted and you suddenly find yourself wandering toward the mound thinking that maybe there is something more interesting there than merely getting to first base.
Then what happens?
You get thrown out.
Or there can be too much green. If every building was covered with green plant-life it would lose its charm. Let individual buildings scattered about the world carrying the burden of being green.
Think about it. The Un. The Uncola. The Unanything. What kind of slogan is that. Advertising what it is not. Maybe have an ad for vegatables as the Unmeat. A pickup truck could be the Uncar. Hardwood floors could be Hardwood unceilings.
Okay, it is a simple picture but sometimes simple can be good.
I remember when I was a child it was quite exciting to prowl through grass that made me all but invisible.
I think this looks like a castle. A bit wiggly but a castle all the same.
Ever wonder what the view from a first class window on an airplane is like? Well, they have much bigger windows. And they are clear; not like those scratched plastic windows that the rest of us have to look through.
Not a particularly interesting photograph but there is something about it that catches my eye. Somethig about the pattern in the glass with the tree in the background.
I was wondering if the person who painted this Volkswagaon Van started with a paint splattered rear door or if that person tried painting the intertwined blue root system or if the roots were painted but ran and the splatters added.
I guess it doesn't really matter. It is the effect that I enjoy.
"The way to a man's heart is through his stomach." John Adams, who made the first statment upon which that was based, must have had a low opinion of men.
Besides, maybe the door is so rusty there is no way to get in.
A city's veins are its sewers. Carrying waste away, they go unnoticed until they rupture.
It's a bitch when opportunity knocks and you can't answer. Sometimes it seems that the door of my life is bricked over.
Of course, maybe opportunity just never comes to visit.
Bars can keep people in. Bars can keep people out. It is all a matter of perspective.
Harsh, rusty solid bars.
I just like the pretty colours.
Have you ever noticed that a machine, no matter how complex, proably contains at least one screw? Now think about what the world would be like it the simple looking but vastly complex form of the screw had not been developed.
No matter how dark and foreboding the clouds appear, there is a bright spot somewhere.
