This is a tiny part of the Lava Beds at Anhluut'ukwsim Laxmihl Angwinga'asanskwhl Nisga'a Provincial Park in northwestern British Columbia. These lava beds, which extend for many miles, were formed when a volcano erupted about 250 years ago.

wonderful shot, it was difficult to show the immenseness of this barren but not dead landscape but you sure did it! you are a wizard!
Yes, a struggle for survival, kind of like that dandilion that grows out of a crack in the middle of the driveway, But your photo is way more beautiful than that!
Say Anhluut'ukwsim Laxmihl Angwinga'asanskwhl Nisga'a ten times a day for practice.
Amazing shot. Amazing tree--or is there more than one?
