Jamie Boychuk, CN Superintendent

Hey, it is not much of a photograph but then all the real excitement is over. The fire is out. The river is no longer burning. No threat of exploding tankcars.

And . . . the ass-covering has begun.

I heard an interview with a CN Spokesperson and she, well, she did not speak. She was the spokesperson but was speechless.

I cannot comment on the cause of the accident other than to say it was employee error. I can't comment on a Transportation Safety Board investigation. I can't comment on employee morale. Stuff like that.

It was employee error. The employee was a Manager. No one will say who it was. That is all. She wouldn't say what the error was. Just an accicdent. These things happen.

No-one has heard from CN Superintendent Jamie Boychuk (who happens to be a Manager). No one will say whether the Manager was given a drug test as any other employee would receive. (The rumour is that the Manager did fail a piss test but that is just a rumour. Maybe he just pissed himself during the excitement.)

Another rumour is that Jamie Boychuk, a Manager, is being reassigned to a new territory down in the United States.

Well this is poor management indeed. So I hope this episode will wake all those who have bought CN Shares that maybe they are contributing to this tomfoolery...because it is in the name of making the shareholders happy that corners are cut in order to increase production at all costs...remember those two employees that rode the train to their death last year...now was the same manager making yet another decision that flaunted all the rules and wisdom of others?

The tragic accident where two employees lost their lives was not in the Prince George District.

Do you seriously think that "production at all costs" comes from ONE manager.

CN needed "human error" and they served up their scape goat because God forbid we focus on operating or safety factors such as, oh I don't know....brakes!

No, it is part of the CN culture but he is an avid proponent.

Mr. Boychuk could have showed up in Champaign Illinois two days ago at 5:30 PM central Standard time.

It is certainly interesting for me to read the blog. Thank you for it. I like such topics and everything that is connected to them. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon.

Best wishes
