A Photoblog of Michael Rawluk's Journey through life.
Continued from yesterday, this is a shot of an installation in a local park. It is covered with graffiti. This is an example of many people leaving their marks, much in the way a dog might, to show that they have been here.

Great collection Michael. Graffiti is great. Frozen moments in time.
Great picture and text.
Excellent images, provocative questions.
now this is the thing I don't like at all... I hate it when people do this kind of thing... ; Real, artistic graffiti can be beautiful, this is trash
hehe i agree on what maarten said...but then again..i don't really know what art is...

These are nothing more than indelible marks of vandalism. That this is a public arena (park) makes it' none the more acceptable to scribe surfaces in this manner.
In Aotearoa there is actually a "grafitti police" where anyone caught tagging or defacing property not designated for this purpose is made to suffer the consequences of they're actions.
This reminds me of hieroglyphics or cave paintings. The "future" will find this and try to decipher what we were all about. A thought-provoking image.

i have to say that that is not graffiti. graffiti is more than just scratches in a piece of wood. i myself do graffiti and my art work is not like that.
if you truly want to see art work graffiti go to google and look it up and then you will no what graffiti really is.
To the person who did this work i am doing a program on teaching people how to learn to do graffiti and tag. if you personally would like to contact me i to am in pg. i wont give you my # but ill give you a way to find me, i work at future cents helping youth. my name is anthony please contact me, ill leave another comment another time to let you know what time and what day because i have just started working
hey michael this is anthony i wanted to let you know i would like to talk to you in person and if you are still in pg please come and talk to me in person at 1160 7th Ave Prince George BC V2L 5G6 i have some things i would like to discuss with you about what it is you are doing.
I am in PG and will try to stop in this week.
to ekim sorry if you came in this week and i wasnt here change in schedule it really sucks because i wanted to meet you but i worked today and this friday in the morning from 9 to 12
if you are able to make it please leave another maessage
hey its me again just want to put on that if you cant make it this week you can catch me next week monday or wednesday 1:30 to 4:30 ok
ekim i finally looked at your 1st pic, i personally have to say that was a very creative piece and i must agree with some things that people say compared to some of the other FACTS:1 fact is that you do have your own opinion on wat u can say and wat u cant say you cant say its bad because someone took along time to do it so dont be a MEAN or RUDE hipocrate
2 though you have an open mind you have to remember that everyone isnt connected through the mind and you cant control wat people say or think even if some people are WRONG and others are RIGHT
3 if you put your mind or thought into something that you truly show compassion and care in then go for it,dont let people tell you dont do it,just do it; as long as you can do something and feel GOOD about it with NO regrets then you have accomplished something that not even i myself have done because almost every thing i havedone up until last year has had terrible regrets a lot of things
so coming from a person that hashad lots of BAD stuff happen in there life then listen to me when i tell you just go with wat you want to do because trust me you can do it so do it! Anthony
ekim please come down tommorrow ornext time i check but i would like to communicate with you in some way besides over the web so please come down.
1 pm anthony
