Does it matter if the sky is falling if everyone believes it is? After all, perception is reality. What we believe is reality to us. If you believe in a god or ghosts or even if you believe that your neighbour just might be working for the CIA it will be true for you.
Or if a town thinks that crime is out of hand it will be. A self-full-filling prophecy.
Moving here from a city with gun fire in the streets was a big change but people seem to think crime is a huge problem here. Even the Welcome Wagon Lady drew attention to it. Now that is a good way to welcome people to town.
The thing is that I haven't ducked any bullets recently. This is paradise. And the sky is not falling.
Good for you, Michael. I needed to hear someone who believes in goodness--who has a positive outlook. Someone who will make a difference in his new town. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou said it. Perception is reality. You also say you're living in paradise. THat's all you have to know.
