I saw this piece of missing sky and wondered if Chicken Little had the right idea and maybe the sky is falling? Naw, I think the lesson that the story teaches us is correct. If you tell enough people that the sky is falling, that will become the reality.Does it matter if the sky is falling if everyone believes it is? After all, perception is reality. What we believe is reality to us. If you believe in a god or ghosts or even if you believe that your neighbour just might be working for the CIA it will be true for you.
Or if a town thinks that crime is out of hand it will be. A self-full-filling prophecy.
Moving here from a city with gun fire in the streets was a big change but people seem to think crime is a huge problem here. Even the Welcome Wagon Lady drew attention to it. Now that is a good way to welcome people to town.
The thing is that I haven't ducked any bullets recently. This is paradise. And the sky is not falling.
