Well, at first glance, this photo would appear to be a serious homage or possibly even an unconscious reference to the short-lived retardo-realist movement of the early seventies......on closer examination,though, I think the subject matter reveals the photographer's self-loathing and strikes me as a desperate cry for help!! I also feel the obvious insertion of religious symbolism into the image could have been more subtle but is technically interesting.
Sometimes a little sugar sprinkled on the dessert makes a lot of difference.

This looks to me like a fine layer of snow and very poor brown paint job on a rusty industrial railing. It’s really food?
