Tribute to Death

The thing that makes life worth living is knowing that death is waiting in the wings. If I didn't know that I was going to die, I would probably sleep in every day and only blog once per week.

What? No Cow Rush?

If there are bull rushes and no cow rushes, how are new rushes born?

Hmmm? Answer me that, smarty pants.

Rounding the Corner.

Today was a painting day. And laid a little carpet in a closet.
I feel like we are rounding the final corner in the home reno business.

Colour Samples

Sometimes paint samples just make you want to look at real colour samples.

Hack Cough

This is not our balcony window.

We have learned the down-side of owning a townhouse. Our neighbour smokes on his balcony and when he does we have to close our windows.

Maybe we need a big fan on our balcony that blows his way.

Look at A Single Stalk of Grain

This is the Theory of Home Renovation. Don't look at the entire field of grain. You will be overwhelmed by the huge task. Focus on a single stalk and when that one is done focus on the next.

Of course, the way things go, you end up with a couple of stalks in focus but it is still better than an entire field.

The kitchen is sink-less for a day or two. The top cabinets are in and the bottoms should be done today. If the counter is in tomorrow then it and the sink will get done.

The next day will be the day to focus on a new stalk.

The Sweat Is Pouring

The sweat is pouring off me. Doesn't that sound attractive?

Spent the day pretending to be a cabinet installer. We got the upper kitchen cabinets almost done. The lowers will be Monday.

Later That Same Evening in The Garden of Good and Evil

I stood at the edge of the garden thinking that it was perfectly laid out. The petals of the blooms caught fading light from the falling sun transforming the world into one of pure beauty. Each moment was different from each other moment.

I felt that I changed a little as well.

My Story

My photo

I got my first camera, a Canon Ft QL, in 1974. It was supplemented by a Canon F1 in 1976 so that I could have a camera for black and white and one for colour.

I still have those beauties but now they have eased into retirement. They relax on my shelf beside many other old beauties.

Now I use a Canon 5D MK II. How convenient to use one camera for both colour and black and white.
