Grateful

Do you think that a tiny plant can be grateful to a stump that nurses it into life providing nourishment and protection? I like to think it can be.

I am also grateful for things but don't always express it adequately.

• A talented and well-adjusted son who loves and is loved
  
• Good friends
• Peaceful solitude when I need it
  
• A ripe tomato

There are many other things but this will do for today.
